Graphic Design manager

We have an exciting opportunity for a Graphic Design Manager to come on board with us at our Head Office team and join the MAD family.

Working as part of the management team, you will lead the design team and manage all traffic through the studio, as well as graphic designers and the print production for the MAD portfolio of restaurants and bars.

You’ll be highly creative as you’ll be responsible for managing and guiding the graphic design team as well as working hands on to deliver projects to specification on time and to budget. You will be working closely with the marketing manager and work across existing sites and new venue developments.

You’ll also be super organised as a very busy studio, the manager’s job involves managing multiple design briefs at a time.

Creative development

• Developing brand positioning and presenting ideas across a variety of formats for existing and new brands

• Develop design briefs by gathering information and data through research

• Develop new concepts and construct creative rationale to support your proposal to management team

• Be creative and strategic, producing new ideas and concepts and ensuring objectives and requirements of the creative brief are met

• Research and brainstorm to produce new ideas and concepts to present to management

• Use innovation to redefine a design brief within the constraints of cost and time

• Support all marketing, venue launches and innovative marketing strategies using graphic design

• Develop creative ideas for campaigns (visual identity, branding or concepts)

• Interpret the business needs and develop concepts to suit its purpose.

Team management

• Manage a busy design workload, the junior graphic designer and the print production – ensuring all work is completed on time and within budget

• Overall responsibility for managing all print and design jobs for MAD venues – ensuring they are of the best quality and printed on time

• Estimating the time required to complete the work

• Plan, manage and organise multiple work streams concurrently

• Graphic design for digital platforms including; wire frames, landing pages and other digital platforms e.g. Mailchimp

General

• Regularly meet venue managers to discuss the business objectives and requirements of the job

• Work with a wide range of media, including Adobe Suite, photography and computer-aided design (CAD)

• Proofreading to produce accurate and high-quality work.

• Demonstrate illustrative skills with rough sketches.

• Keep abreast of emerging technologies in new media, particularly design programs such as InDesign, QuarkXPress, FreeHand, Illustrator, Photoshop, and 3ds Max, Acrobat, Director, Dreamweaver and Flash.

• Develop interactive design for digital marketing

• Commission illustrators and photographers where necessary

• Work as part of a team with printers, copywriters, photographers, stylists, illustrators, other designers, other team members, web developers and marketing specialists

• Any other reasonable request made by the Senior Management team

We are looking for a competitive sales executive, with proven experience in the Liqueur and hospitality industry who can help develop sales strategies and attract new clients. The successful candidate will be responsible for the North of England area, and will play a key role in increasing income and revenue by managing and negotiating with suppliers and clients, generating leads and qualifying prospects.

Responsibilities:

  • ‪Making appointments to meet new and existing customers
  • ‪Understanding your customers’ needs
  • ‪Making presentations to promote new products and special deals
  • ‪Agreeing sales, prices, contracts and payments
  • ‪Advising customers about delivery schedules and after-sales service
  • ‪Keeping in contact with existing customers in person and by telephone
  • ‪Watching your competitors and the products they are offering
  • ‪Going to conferences and seminars and keeping up with industry trends
  • ‪Meeting your personal and company sales targets
  • ‪Reporting sales trends to the Directors.
  • ‪Reviewing sales prices and volumes quarterly to drive the best possible profit
  • ‪Liaising with suppliers and clients to resolve any issues with service
  • ‪Identifying new clients and areas of opportunity through knowledge of the north-west bar scene

Hours

‪Your working hours would be 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. You may be able to choose your hours as long as you meet your sales targets. Making enough appointments to meet the needs of all your customers could mean that you sometimes need to put in longer hours. This could include working evenings and weekends.

As you will cover a wide geographical area you will be required to spend much of your time out of the office travelling to and meeting with clients. When not on the road, you will be based in Manchester.

Infamous Diner – 50s inspired American Diner, serving classic shakes, frozen margaritas and lots of American charm!

We are looking for fun, energetic and smiley bartenders to join our team. A real ability to give great customer service whilst making millions of milkshakes, if you are into American Cheese this is the job for you! ( you also get a great uniform too!) We are looking for full and part time bartenders.

Walrus – Our newly refurbished bar serves great food and drinks, with a relaxed and friendly vibe midweek, shifting at the weekend to one of NQs top venues for great DJS, amazing cocktails and late night party tunes!  It’s all about the service here with table service the norm midweek, and 4-deep at the bar come the weekend! We are looking for part and full time bartenders and barbacks.

Rosylee  – the jewel in the Northern Quarter, Rosylee is pretty as a picture, and is the perfect setting for warm cosy nights with delicious comfort food. Although predominantly a restaurant, our bar still attracts a crowd, and our varied cocktail menu is popular with the after work drinkers. We are looking for part time bartenders.
