Manchester tiki dive Hula is branching out to Stockport with a new site in Heaton Moor.

The late night party bar will take over the former Time and Place bar on Shaw Road at the end of October.

It will be the third Hula in owner MAD Ltd’s growing restaurant and bar empire, promising the same raucous fun, rum and fire as the Northern Quarter and West Didsbury branches with tiki cocktails, zombies, beers, wines and spirits.

Hula Heaton Moor will also be MAD’s third venue in the Stockport suburb, joining Tusk and The Fitzgerald, which opened in the former Kro bar unit across the road last year.

Managing director Mark Andrew said “ We’re really excited to open our third site in Heaton Moor, and ninth for the group. Hula is such a great brand – it’s fun, cheeky, with lots of personality and will bring another great venue to the area and those looking for a night out on the Moor.”

Time and Place closed in August after two years. The site was previously live music venue The Blue Cat.

The venue is currently undergoing a full refurbishment which will see it fitted with booth seating, neon lighting and a dance floor to party into the early hours on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

MAD announced plans to expand Hula across Greater Manchester in August after securing a multimillion pound funding deal .Mark added: “We will continue to look for more sites for the Hula brand in Manchester and beyond, but the Blue Cat site was the perfect choice for the third launch. We’re already eyeing up further sites to bring the Hula experience to more people across the UK.”Hula Heaton Moor will open on October 19, followed by an official launch party on November 2.
