MAD Cocktail Passport 

Pick up a MAD passport and take advantage of £5 cocktails across four of MAD’s Northern Quarter bars. Collect a stamp at each venue and you could win a £100 bar tab!

Ultimate Cocktail Crawl 

MAD takes you on a global cocktail roam as you try cocktails inspired by different corners of the world. Starting in Africa and the tribal surrounds of Tusk you’ll enjoy a homemade infusion cocktail from South Africa’s Whitley Neill. Back to England and Rosylee for a quintessentially British classic from Portobello Road. Going across the pond to America, enjoy a 1920s, speakeasy-style Hudson Whiskey cocktail at The Fitzgerald and finish in the tropics with a fresh and fruity rum number in Hula, from Santa Teresa. Weird Science at The Fitzgerald

Renowned for their cocktail making skills and weekly live music events, The Fitzgerald invites you to bring out your experimental side with a series of unusual events. Unleash your inner science geek with their experimental ‘cocktail lab’ masterclass, join them for a free whiskey masterclass and don’t miss their whiskey-fuelled gig with the After Hours….

A Masterclass with Hudson at The Fitzgerald

Whether you’re a whiskey connoisseur or not, our tasting session and masterclass will expose you to the full variety of Hudson’s bourbon and whiskeys. From the expressively woody and superbly smoky Baby Bourbon to the vibrant Manhattan Rye and the rich and peppery four-grain.

You’ll learn all about Hudson’s rich history; from its humble beginnings in the first whiskey distillery in New York since Prohibition and try all three blends – and where better to do this than the 1920’s inspired speakeasy that is, The Fitzgerald.

A Whiskey Fuelled Gig – with The After Hours, from 8pm

The volume will be cranked up from 9pm with live music from The After Hours, providing their eclectic mix of awesome choons, for a whiskey-fuelled gig.

The After Hours, will be bringing the party with their direct and unpretentious approach to both swing jazz and live dance music. They’ll be playing two full sets of upbeat swing as well as quirky covers of popular songs such as Moloko’s Bring it back and Britney Spears Toxic, for an electric atmosphere.

Guests will be treated to special Hudson whiskey cocktail menu running alongside The Fitzgerald’s amazing selection of quality cocktails, spirits and beers. And with Happy Hour running all night long, that means 2 for £10 cocktails until 1am! So expect great music, dancing and plenty of alcohol!

Cocktail Lab Masterclass at The Fitzgerald

A journey through the weird and wonderful, at this masterclass you will make and create a smoked bacon and maple old fashioned, a lavender infused Aviation with a cloud of fog and take home your own bitters making kit.

Rosylee’s Gin Parlour

Beautiful Rosylee is the perfect spot for some quintessentially English drinking at their Gin Parlour.

Throughout MFDF select your preferred gin tipple and choose your own botanicals to garnish. There’ll be special gin tastings and masterclasses plus a gin and chocolate tasting event.

Amicable Club at Rosylee

Join us for an evening of gin and fine food, as Rosylee and Thomas Dakin Gin recreate the 18th century amicable club for Manchester Food and Drink Festival. There’ll be a three-course meal, perfectly matched for gin drinking, with serves from Thomas Dakin.

The evening also includes a masterclass and talk from Alix Walker, Thomas Dakin’s brand ambassador.

Tickets are £30 and include a three course meal, and gin paired cocktails.

There will also be a special £5 gin cocktail menu available all night.

Masterclass with Portobello Rd Gin at Rosylee

Portobello Rd Gin are based on one of the most famous roads in London, and they’ll be taking a trip up north to share their story and give you a masterclass on their delightful gin, blended from 9 botanicals, and which serves it works best in.

Gin parlour at Rosylee

Rosylee will play host to a gin parlour throughout MFDF, so if gin is your favourite tipple, head to the bar where you’ll be able to create your own gin masterpiece by selecting your favourite gin and adding your own botanicals to garnish.

Bringing back the 80s at Walrus and Tusk

Music, food and drinks are what Walrus and Tusk do best with their brand new menu featuring street-food style plates including Hipster Chips, which will be available at the MFDF kitchen. Throughout the festival they’ll be throwing back the years with 80s inspired cocktails and masterclasses, retro games and will culminate in a massive 80s house party!

90s House Party at Walrus

Get ready to party 90s style with Walrus and New Amsterdam Vodka! Walrus will be throwing back the years with the best 90s playlist, 90s inspired cocktails and retro games for the best house party of your life. There’s also a free welcome cocktail thrown in from us!

Retro Masterclass at Walrus

Back to the old school, as you learn how to make classic 90s cocktails at Walrus with our selection of fun, retro serves like the Blue Lagoon, Long Island Iced Tea, slippery Nipple and there’ll be Jell-O shots to round up the session and 90s nibbles to keep you sober along the way!

Mini Tiki Festival at Hula

Purveyors of all things rum, fire and tiki – Hula know how to throw a party with fun and frolics in their den of debauchery seven nights a week.

Hosting the Official MFDF closing party on Sunday 8th October with Bacardi there’ll be live music, DJs, free tiki shirts, cocktails and more.
